Mr. Johnston has 31 years of business and financial experience in the aerospace, defense and communications industries at three major corporations: Boeing, General Dynamics and Motorola Inc. He has 10 years of experience in M&A work including acquisitions, joint ventures, equity investments, and divestitures.
Prior to joining MRCworldwide, Mr. Johnston spent ten years at Boeing’s $30 billion Integrated Defense Systems business in Seal Beach, California, where he was Director of Business Analysis and developed strategic transactions involving more than a dozen businesses ranging in value from $10 million to $3.75 billion. Prior to joining Boeing, he worked on a number of space and defense programs for General Dynamics’ Corporate Office and Space Systems Division. He developed Spacehab Inc.’s I.P.O. (initial public offering) in 1995. Mr. Johnston began his career at Motorola's Communications Group in Chicago, where he worked on the first nation-wide cellular telephone business.
Mr. Johnston is a graduate of the University of Illinois with an M.B.A. (Finance) and has a B.A. degree from Southern Illinois University (Government). He attended the University of San Diego Law School and is a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor with the AMAA (Alliance of Merger and Acquisition Advisors) affiliated with Loyola University of Chicago. Mr. Johnston holds a current SSBI (March 31, 2007) for Top Secret programs clearance, and is a licensed real estate agent in the State of California.
